The Death Throes of Toxic Maximalism w/Johnny: Pittsburgh PA | Ep. 032

Johnny Crypto of Three Rivers Bitcoin joins us to talk about running a meetup built for newcomers in Pittsburgh, a city where Bitcoiners are spread out and easy to lose touch with. The conversation turns to toxicity in Bitcoin’s culture: purity tests, meme-armor that turns newcomers away, and why being principled doesn’t require being an asshole. We also cover Johnny’s takeaways from Lauren Rodriguez’s visit to Pittsburgh BitDevs, why the community needs a funded, organized response the next time privacy developers are prosecuted, and a big round of boosts in the V4V section.
